This delightful loft in Paris exceeded all my expectations! Too often, when booking through advertised sites which promise the earth, one is disappointed when they fail to deliver the goods. Not in this case: the loft has lived up to all its expectations and more. The apartment itself is spacious and quaint. The furnishings are adequate, comfortable and utilitarian - in fact, carefully chosen so as not to clutter the 55m2 space. It is more than adequate for one person (as in my case), but I have had people stay on many occasions during my 3 month sojourn - up to 4 visitors at a time - without feeling cramped. The couches double up as comfortable beds and enough linen is provided. I thought that the lack of an oven would be an impediment to my culinary adventures: in fact,it permitted me to be more innovative and I surprised myself with the delicious meals that could be prepared with only a microwave and two plates on the electric stove. Being situated on the 6th floor has its benefits as far as I'm concerned. You are spared any overhead noises, have a spectacular view of the other apartment roofs and chimneys, the blue sky on a clear day and get the glorious afternoon sun.The white paint, windows and skylines provide adequate lighting. Furthermore, although serviced by an elevator,I always took the stairs - this was excellent exercise and firmed "the derrière" substantially! The superb location of the apartment was also a huge bonus. It is very central and in close proximity to all the notable tourist sites, shopping areas and entertainment centres. The public transport is excellent in Paris, with metros and buses everywhere, but thanks to the address of the loft, I never made use of the above, as I could walk absolutely everywhere. This I would recommend if one loves walking, as I do - otherwise make use of the public transport system. Walking simultaneously permitted me to take my daily exercise, view sites and visit important areas. And Paris is a city which lends itself to exploring by foot it is flat,pedestrian-friendly and well-designed with clear signposts. Armed with a map and walking shoes, the world/city is your oyster! I am having a wonderful time in this glorious city and thoroughly enjoying living in this loft. Even the imminent winter and cold weather is not daunting as there is central heating! If the loft is available on my next visit to the city, I shall rent it again , even if for a week. Furthermore, I shall recommend it to my family and all my friends! Ines

We loved staying at your apartment- it was really perfect !

Take care and I'll be in touch next time we're coming to Paris!

RENTAL from May 8th to 17th

We stayed here in mid-May 2010 and found the apt to be very comfortable and livable. Great shops in the neighborhood (go south on Rue de la Pompe), close to the Metro (at Place Victor Hugo) , highly recommended. Dave

We stayed a week at this apartment and found it to be a perfect location for getting to all the sights we wanted to see. The closest Metro stop is about 7 minutes away and there is a lovely patisserie along the way where at least one worker was happy to speak English with us (even though my daughter speaks more than passable French). In the other direction is a grocery store, meat market, flower shop, wine merchant and another Metro stop (about 10 minutes walk). The apartment is walking distance to the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower and there are several restaurants on the nearby Place Victor Hugo that are quite good. The apartment is much as it seems in the photos, comfortable for the 3 adults in our party. We did not cook in the kitchen but the fridgekept our cheese and champagne cold! The dishes were dusty but not dirty and the place was quite clean. The bathroom was small but adequate though there is a high side on the tub which might make it difficult for short people to get into and out of (not a problem we have in our group). The water pressure in the shower was also good. The bed in the bedroom was comfortable as were the sofas in the living room. The lift was wonderful after a long day of sightseeing though it is very small. We felt safe in the neighborhood any time we were out. There is some construction going on in the building but there was only some slight banging one morning and it was not before 8:30 or 9 and was not overwhelmingly bothersome. The owner says in the description that it is a "concierge" building but as far as my understanding of the word, it is not. This did not matter to us as we did not need assistance. Other than the construction one morning the place was very quiet. We were met promptly by the owners agent upon our arrival and when we had a problem with hot water one day we were able to contact her quickly and get the problem resolved with just the flick of a switch. The only problem we had was a lack of blankets as it was a cold and rainy week when we were there. There was free Wi-Fi available as well which we all enjoyed! Stay in this place and you'll be able to sleep all night after you explore Paris all day!" Lynn Slezak
